"Soldiers of Darkness" is a feature length documentary film about the growing problem of black and black crime in the urban streets of Newark and Plainfield, New Jersey. The film analyzes the new generation of African Americans who turn to gang life in order to establish security. The story deals with the past, present, and future of Black Americans, specifically, young men who are affiliated with different gang sets. The past includes the Black Americans who worked hard to achieve freedom and peace in the communities, the present is the gangs such as the Bloods and the Crips who feel American society have forgotten them. Many of these gang members feel that the gang life is the only form of kindred that they have in this world.
